The international organiser of darts tournaments, PDC, has chosen Venue Manager's app. It will be used for events in Germany and Austria and will therefore be able to handle different VAT rates.
PDC stands for Professional Darts Corporation. In European Dart alone, thousands of guests come to many different dart tournaments every year, where big cash prizes are at stake. It is important to be able to communicate with the guests during a tournament and to be able to sell food and drink to them. This is why PDC has entered into an agreement to use the Venue App.
Through the app, it is possible to inform the audience on an ongoing basis and people can follow the tournament program and see the results. In addition to communicating with the audience, the app will also be used to sell food and beverages. By buying through the app, spectators can access a fast track, where they can quickly pick up their ordered items, simply by swiping in the app. It is an advantage for both the thirsty spectators and for the organizers.
Venue Manager has measured transactions for other customers who use the app to sell catering. An average sale of food and beverages with ordinary payment cards lasts approximately 50% longer than when the expedition takes place via the Venue App.
Assistant PDC Business Manager Tim Talhoff says there are four major reasons why they chose the Venue App. It is a digitization project. PDC will strengthen its contact with fans. Contactless payment can be made, and sponsor marketing can be improved.
- With European Dart as a customer, we are expanding our presence in Germany and Austria. It will be exciting to see how many spectators take advantage of digitalization and use the app to skip the queue, says Venue Manager Business Director, Walter Ariesen.
Professional Darts Corporation sells tickets and merchandise itself, and Venue obviously hopes to be considered when they choose system in those areas in the future, because Venue's solutions can easily be integrated with the app.
